Robot Hand

In my senior year of high school I took a college preparation class where the final project was to create a project that had to do with the career that you wanted to go into. Knowing that I wanted to have a career in computer science since the eighth grade, I decided that I wanted to create a project regarding that, but also for the project to be more tangible than a piece of software. I found the idea to create a robot hand online after some research where I found that someone had created a robot hand using flex sensors and small, programmable motors to bend the fingers. I replicated this project with a few modifications and the result was a puppet-like mechanical hand controlled by a wired glove.

This project gave me an insight into many different aspects of computer science that I had never had any experience with including programming in the C language, working with sensors, working with motors, wiring, and soldering.
